Abb and yinson win Brazil offshore oil and gas project

Using ABB capability ™ 800xA control system and select IO (input / output), abb will be responsible for the integrated design of the project, integrating all shipboard production modules into an integrated control and safety system (ICSS). ABB will deliver a full range of electrical, control and telecommunication solutions, including an E-House, to help improve efficiency and productivity of the new FPSO in Brazil's marlim 2 field. Previously, yinson has won an order to retrofit a 2002 crude oil tanker, mainly responsible for the operation and maintenance of floating production and storage vessels (FPSOs). The oil tanker is expected to be in service for 25 years. Recently, abb signed a cooperation agreement with yinson, an energy solution provider, to provide shipboard electrical, control and communication equipment and services for Anna nery FPSO located in the marlim 2 oil field in the Campos Basin, Brazil

"We need to deliver this FPSO delicately, efficiently and on time," says Flemming gr ó nnegaard, yinson's CEO of offshore operations. We believe that ABB's technology, solutions and the successful experience of numerous similar projects will be an important guarantee for us to achieve this goal. The marlim2 project is very important to yinson. With the help of ABB's professional knowledge, we can trust the Anna nery FPSO to abb with complete confidence. " This is another offshore oil and gas project of ABB using select IO to improve project execution efficiency. Select IO is a single channel IO system based on Ethernet, which can digitally route field signals in intelligent junction box. Combined with abb xStream engineering and digital wiring technology, select IO can help the project team separate the hardware and software design tasks, and realize the overall standardization of cabinet design, thus allowing the cabinet installation and wiring work to be completed as early as possible in the early stage of construction.

ABB will put all software engineering in the cloud system, and then use Select IO digital cabling technology to integrate software and hardware applications. This integration mode is conducive to the realization of deck production and seamless docking of safety system, ship system, remote communication package, monitoring equipment and electrical system. "ABB's global operations centers in Singapore and Norway deliver electrical, control and communications solutions for FPSOs in Brazil and around the world," said Brandon Spencer, global head of ABB's energy industry. ABB capability is deployed on this FPSO Gamma The 800xA system will help yinson simplify project execution and operation, improve overall equipment efficiency, and provide critical data insight to help make real-time decisions based on performance. " ABB's Asia business team will work with yinson on the project site in Asia and Brazil, while the offshore business expert team in Norway will provide guidance for the project, thus expanding the cooperation between the two companies to a global scale.
